The Kaitaia Show has been held each year since 1886. This makes it the oldest community organisation in the district.
It was started as a way of supporting and encouraging rural activities, especially farming and that is a theme which continues today.
The Kaitaia Show is held over the last weekend in February. The Saturday is always the day on which most of the action happens but indoor exhibits are open to the public on Friday afternoon and usually there are sometimes equestrian activities on the Sunday.
The Kaitaia Show has always provided a place where commercial displays can be seen. Everything from water filters to huge tractors will be on display and what would a show be without hot dogs, candyfloss and lots of food?
The Kaitaia Show is a great place for the family.
