From the very first A&P Show, the ability to run successful shows across the country has come down to the tireless work of volunteers in all aspects of the showing movement.
From our our stewards and judges, to our show managers and presidents, the majority of these roles at A&P Shows are filled by volunteers. Our National Executive, national convenors and members of our district and national councils and committees are also all volunteers as well.
To help attract and develop our volunteers, the RAS is now a member of Volunteering NZ which allows us to provide resources and opportunities for our dedicated volunteers.
These resources are available in the Members Only section of the website, so contact your show secretary who can access these*.
We will also be letting shows know when there is upcoming opportunities, and when new resources become available.
*For show secretaries who are yet to register, visit the Member Registration page.
December 5th was International Volunteers Day, and it is a chance for us to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful people who volunteer their time to support the showing movement. Without all those incredible people who help our members run their event, in and in some cases, their organisation across the year, the movement simply comes to halt.
We also couldn’t function without people prepared to take on District and national roles. So again, thank you to you all – most people reading this will be volunteers and we appreciate your passion and commitment.
Thank you to our Volunteers, and check out a video from our National President below:
